Q.  "How do you play?"

A.  You choose your team by picking one driver from each of the groups.  After picking and submitting your team all you need to do is make sure you have a full team each week.  (see rules for injury, inactive driver and loss of ride options)

Q.  "How are my team points figured?"

A.  Your team points are the total of what each one of your 8 drivers earns for each race, this is based on NASCAR's official race results.

Q. "When are the race pool results posted?"

A. I  post the race pool results the same day that Nascar releases the official race results, Monday evening's is the norm.

Q. "I won a prize, how do I claim it?"

A. Just click on the claim prize link and fill out the form.  You can check in at the winners page to see if your prize was mailed.

Q.  "My driver was docked points for a penalty, does that affect my team points?"

A.  Yes, if Nascar penalizes a driver by taking championship points away then I will apply the same penalty to all teams with that driver.  This will be applied to your team at the time the penalty is officially announced.  The penalty is applied to your overall total not to your points for the week.

If your driver has been disqualified for the race and/or his finish position is changed  by Nascar this will affect your points earned for the week.

Q.  "My driver appealed his penalty and won, do I get my points back if my driver does?"

A.  Yes, if Nascar returns points to a driver I will return the same points to all teams that have that driver.  This will be applied to your team at the time the penalty reversal is officially announced.  The returned points are added back to your overall total not to your points for the week.

NOTE: You must have that driver at the time of the penalty and still have him at the time the penalty reversal is announced to get the returned points.

Q. “The points you say I have for the race does not match what I come up with.”

A.  On the top of each weeks standings is a link to verify your points for that race.  Compare what I have listed for your points in each group to Nascar's official race results for your team drivers.  If we don't match look up what I have listed for your team on the player picks sheet for the race in question, if we still do not match or I have entered a swap incorrectly contact me.

Q. “The points you list for a driver does not match NASCAR's official results for the race.”

A. The way Nascar list the points does make it a little confusing.  A driver listed as earning 195/10 means he earned 195 total points, 10 of which came from bonus points.  How bonus points are awarded along with points earned for position are explained here.

Q.  "My driver has not been racing, what can I do?"

A.  First you will need to determine if your driver meets the criteria for a swap.  There is only 4 options here-

1. You may swap if he has been officially released from his ride, An announcement posted at NASCAR'S website is needed before I will accept.

NOTE:  If your drivers status with the team is unclear, i.e. he may return to the car, then you will have to wait until he qualifies for the inactive rule.  All decisions are made on a race by race basis.

2.  You may swap if your driver is injured and wont be racing,  see rules for details

3.  You may swap if your driver has not attempted to qualify for 4 consecutive races.

NOTE: A driver is considered to have attempted the race if he is listed on NASCAR's starting lineup page, either listed as making the race or as "Did Not Qualify" for the race.

4.  You may swap if it's the week of the free 1/2 way swap.

Q.  "My driver lost his ride last season and has not picked up a ride for this season, can I swap him under the loss of ride rule?"

A.  No, the loss of ride has to be from the current season.  You will have to wait until he's eligible under the inactive driver rule.

Top

Q.  "My driver has been suspended, can I swap him for another driver?"

A.  No, your driver has to be released from his ride.  A suspension is only temporary and he will likely return to the car after the suspension.  However; if your driver is suspended for at least four consecutive races then he will qualify for the inactive driver provision.

Q.  "How can I find out the number of races my driver has not attempted to qualify for?"

A. I keep track here.  This information is based on NASCAR's official lineup and race results, if your driver has attempted the race he will be listed somewhere on NASCAR's official race lineup, either as making the race or as "Did Not Qualify".  If your driver is not listed as either of those two then your driver has a "DNA" (did not attempt).  The links to the official lineup and official results for each race can be accessed from the archive page.

Q.  "My driver meets the criteria for a swap, now what do I do?"

A.   Just fill out the info on the Swap Request Form, you will receive an email from me if I accept or deny your request before qualifying for the upcoming race.

Top

Q.  "I just requested a swap and it was denied, now what?"

A.  You will need to make another request if your driver becomes eligible in the future.

Top

Q.  “I just requested a swap and it was accepted, do I need to notify you again for the next race?”

A.  No, once I accept a swap it is good for the remainder of the season.

Top

Q. “My driver has been injured or has lost his ride, do I get the points from the replacement driver?"

A. No, if your driver earns no points you will earn no points for that group.

NOTE:  If your driver completes at least the first lap  of the race and is then replaced by a relief driver, your driver (along with you), will still earn the points for the finish of that car.

Top

Q. “My driver has been injured after he qualified and will not start the race, what can I do?"

A. Because no changes to your team are allowed once qualifying starts your out of luck for that race.  You can however request a swap for the next race in case he's going to be out for awhile.

Q.  “If I make a swap due to my driver getting injured; do I get my driver back when he returns?”

A.  No, once a swap is made it’s permanent.  If at some point your replacement driver becomes eligible to be swapped, you may choose your original driver if you wish.

Top

Q. “My driver has been released from his ride and is joining another team, will I get the points he earns in his new car?”

A. Yes, your points are based on driver points so it does not matter what car your driver earns them in.  You do have an option to make a swap in this scenario but it has to be before he attempts to qualify for a race with his new team.

Top

Q. "With 10 races to go NASCAR is resetting the points of one of my driver(s), will my team points be affected?"

A.  No, your team points are based on the total of what your drivers earn for each race.
