Q.  "How do you play?"

A.  You choose your team by picking one driver from each of the groups.  After picking and submitting your team all you need to do is make sure you have a full team each week.  (see rules for swap options)

Q.  "How are my team points figured?"

A.  Your team points are the total of what each one of your 8 drivers earns for each race, this is based on NASCAR's official race results.

Q. "When are the race pool results posted?"

A. I  usually post the race pool results the same day that Nascar releases the official race results, Monday evening's is the norm.

Q. "I won a prize, how do I claim it?"

A. Just click on the claim prize link and fill out the form.  You can check in at the winners page to see if your prize was mailed.

Q.  "My driver was docked points for a penalty, does that affect my team points?"

A.  Yes, if Nascar penalizes a driver by taking championship points away then I will apply the same penalty to all teams with that driver.  This will be applied to your team at the time the penalty is officially announced.  The penalty is applied to your overall total not to your points for the week.

If your driver has been disqualified for the race and/or his finish position is changed  by Nascar this will affect your points earned for the week.

Q.  "My driver appealed his penalty and won, do I get my points back if my driver does?"

A.  Yes, if Nascar returns points to a driver I will return the same points to all teams that have that driver.  This will be applied to your team at the time the penalty reversal is officially announced.  The returned points are added back to your overall total not to your points for the week.

NOTE: You must have that driver at the time of the penalty and still have him at the time the penalty reversal is announced to get the returned points.

Q. “The points you say I have for the race does not match what I come up with.

A.  Click on the team summary link on the race pool results page in question to verify your points for that race.  Compare what I have listed for your points in each group to Nascar's official race results for your team drivers.  If we don't match verify what I have listed for your team on the player picks sheet for the race in question, if we still do not match or I have entered a swap incorrectly contact me.

Q. “The points you list for a driver does not match NASCAR's official results for the race.

A. The way Nascar list the points makes it a little confusing.  A driver listed as earning 48/5 means he earned 48 total points, 5 of which came from bonus points.  How bonus points are awarded along with points earned for position are explained here.

Q.  "My driver has not been racing, what can I do?"

A. If your driver has not earned any points for 3 consecutive races he is considered inactive and is eligible to be swapped.

Q.  "My driver has declared another series as their series to earn points in, will I still earn points for my driver?

A. No, if your driver earns no points from Nascar you will earn no points for that driver.

NOTE:  Nascar has made a new rule for 2011:  Before the start of the season a driver has to declare one series they want to earn points in.  They may race in the other series and are eligible for the money and car owner points but not driver points.

Q.  "My driver has been injured or lost his ride, what can I do?"

A. You will have to wait to see if your driver doesn't earn any points for 3 consecutive races, if he does not earn points for 3 consecutive races then he is considered inactive and is eligible to be swapped.

Q.  "What happened to the loss of ride and injury rule?"

A.  You may no longer make a swap if your driver is injured or loses his ride.  I made this change to simplify the pool for all of us.  It has been getting increasingly difficult each year for me to determine when a driver has actually lost his ride.  Many times drivers may sit out a race or two for whatever reasons.  I need to base my decisions on official info, which rarely is available when a driver suddenly stops racing.  By covering the loss of a driver with the inactive rule I can make my decision by Nascar's official race results, pretty much black and white for everyone.  The inactive rule was reduced from 4 to 3 consecutive races and is now tied to if your driver earns points for the race instead of if your driver attempts to make the race or not.  Easier for both you and I to track for eligibility.

Q.  "My driver has been suspended, can I swap him for another driver?"

A.  No,  A suspension is only temporary and he will likely return to the car after the suspension.  However; if your driver is suspended for at least three consecutive races then he will qualify for the inactive driver rule.

Q.  "How can I find out the number of races my driver has not earned points for?"

A. I keep track here.  This information is based on NASCAR's official race results, if your driver has earned points for the race it will be listed on NASCAR's official race results.  If your driver has not earned points for 3 consecutive races your driver is eligible to be swapped.  The links to the official lineup and official results for each race can be accessed from the archive page.

Q.  "My driver is listed with PE for official results, what does this mean?"

A.  PE means your driver/team submitted their entry form past Nascar's deadline- they are eligible for prize money but not points.

Q.  "My driver meets the criteria for a swap, now what do I do?"

A.   Just fill out the info on the Swap Request Form, you will receive an email from me if I accept or deny your request before qualifying for the upcoming race.

Top

Q.  "I just requested a swap and it was denied, now what?"

A.  You will need to make another request if your driver becomes eligible in the future.

Top

Q.  I just requested a swap and it was accepted, do I need to notify you again for the next race?

A.  No, once I accept a swap your all set.

Top

Q. “My driver has been injured or has lost his ride, do I get the points from the replacement driver?"

A. No, if your driver earns no points you will earn no points for that group.

NOTE:  If your driver completes at least the first lap of the race and is then replaced by a relief driver, your driver (along with you), will still earn the points for the finish of that car.

Q. “My driver has been injured after he qualified and will not start the race, what can I do?"

A. If he does not earn points for 3 consecutive races then he is eligible to be swapped

Q. “My driver has been released from his ride and is joining another team, will I get the points he earns in his new car?

A. Yes, your points are based on driver points so it does not matter what car your driver earns them in.

Top

Q. "With 10 races to go NASCAR is resetting the points of one of my driver(s), will my team points be affected?"

A.  No, your team points are based on the total of what your drivers earn for each race.
